Southern Stingray Bowl
Competition Day is February 1, 2025
The Southern Stingray Bowl is a regional competition for high school students in the Georgia and South Carolina region. Historic Savannah State University hosts this year's Southern Stingray Bowl. Savannah State University has been the host site for the Southern Stingray Bowl since 2010.
The quiz bowl competition focuses on marine sciences. Each team consists of four team members and one alternate. The morning begins with a round-robin competition which determines the single elimination round placement in the afternoon. Teams competing in the round robin competition will be divided into one of four divisions through a blind draw. Teams will compete against each team in their division. Teams will then be ranked according to their scores and wins/losses into the single elimination bracket.
The Southern Stingray Bowl has capacity for 16 competing teams. Coaches are encouraged to register teams early. Team registration will open in October. Coaches will receive their teams division assignment no later than the middle of January along with other information regarding the bowl
